The inclusion of the pharmaceutical industry within the scope of strategic investments of the New Incentive Package announced by our Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has been greeted with enthusiasm by the Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association of Turkey (IEIS). IEIS accepts it as a significant development that this Incentive Package especially makes references to special fields like biotechnology, oncology and blood products in which there are production and investment deficits in our country and the investments to be made to these fields, without regard for their locations, will be benefitting from the 5th region assistance.
In the statement made by IEIS General Secretary Turgut Tokgöz, he said with the “Partnering with the Government to Globalize the Turkish Pharmaceutical Industry” that we published last year we had share with the government officials that the pharmaceutical industry needs a strategic approach. In this context we had expressed our wish for a special approach to be adopted towards our industry, which has high added value and is based on innovation, in the new incentive system that was in the process of being created. We commend the fact that these opinions have gained acceptance at the level of the government and steps have been taken towards providing the strategic support needed to make the Turkish pharmaceutical industry a global player”.
Applications like the New Incentive Package have been pleasing and motivating developments for our industry which has set its goals on globalization and becoming a significant hub of pharmaceutical production and has a well-rooted production culture and strong infrastructure.
