The Turkish pharmaceutical industry provides more than 12 thousand products to the service of our people produced at 96 facilities at international standards by approximately 680 organizations and 40 thousand employees.
History of the Industry
The operational experience of the Turkish pharmaceutical manufacturer includes decades of history which has given way to an industry strongly committed to upholding international quality standards. On par with products produced in developed markets, owing to the quality of the country’s human capital and state-of-the-art technology, the footprint of Turkish pharmaceuticals now extends to more than 180 countries, among which include member nations of the European Union (EU), the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), North Africa and the Middle East.
The Good Manufacturing (GMP) practices, which is a set of rules that ensures the production and control of pharmaceuticals in line with quality standards, was passed in our country in 1984 and accredits pharmaceutical facilities both by the Ministry of Health and by the authorities of countries such as the United States, Germany, Denmark, England, Japan and the Gulf countries.
