The Afghanistan National Medicines Services Organization’s visit to Turkey

The Afghanistan National Medicines Services Organization (ANMSO) will be visiting our country on June 24-27, 2013. The visit, which aims to convey the knowledge of the Association and official agencies to ANMSO in order for it to be positioned as an effective private sector organization and to reinforce its capacity, was organized with the support of our Association. 

An educational meeting was organized by our Syndicate on June 24, 2013 within the scope of this visit. In the meeting that lasted a full day, information about the Turkish health system, the pharmaceutical market and regulations were conveyed in detail. Later a course was given on the role of the Association in the industry including its responsibilities and internal operations. 

Meeting will also take place with the Turkish Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency and the Social Security Agency within the scope of the committee’s visit. 

What is ANMSO? 

ANMSO was established in March of 2012. In is in the position of being the umbrella organization of 6 organizations which are active in Afghanistan (The Pharmaceutical Importers Organization, The Pharmaceutical Producers Organization, The Pharmaceutical Distribution Channels Organization, The Retailers Organization and the Medical Devices Organization). The purpose for establishing the organization was to make more products available in the Afghanistan market through production and import and increase access to pharmaceuticals. 

USAID aims increase the quality of services provided by reinforcing the operation, management and human resources systems of ANMSO through financial and technical support provided to the Health Policies Project (HPP) in Afghanistan.
